It offers you more affordable housing then in Manhattan and you can commute daily by train. Revitalization has already started in most of these boroughs and should continue to become better. Expect prices to continue rising as the crime rate decreases though.
If you need more affordable housing that is closer to the national average you should look at places like Buffalo, Syracuse, and Westchester County. All three of these places have great schooling, and employment rates. The housing is a lot more affordable then in or around Manhattan, and you aren’t in such a populated area. This is ideal if you love the quiet life, and enjoy peaceful nights without the sounds of trains and cars.
